December 2008
You know Ciroc, that shitty rubbing alcohol Diddy is passing off as Vodka? Well he announced on his website that he will grant New York City $1 million if they transform the iconic New Year’s Eve ball blue in tribute to Ciroc Vodka’s iconic sapphire-hued stone. Diddy promises that if the ball were to be changed in time for the festivities, the million dollar check will go directly...

grow up
It’s so annoying that people feel the need to judge me or make assumptions about me just because I dress well and like designer things. Despite what you may think I’m not only interested in Chanel bracelets and Juicy Couture bags.  I hate narrow-minded people.

Israeli Gaza Strike Kills 200 +
Of course the Bush administration blames Hamas for the violence and demanded that it stop firing rockets but never condemned Israel’s use of force. And president-elect Obama had “no comment.”  nice.

The Plaza
The landmark Plaza hotel was once a famous hot spot for celebrities swinging through New York City in the 50’s and 60’s. Sadly most of the landmark Fifth Ave. hotel has undergone a $400 million lobby-to-roof renovation that saw some floors converted into condos. Vanity Fair has published some amazing photos of the hayday Plaza times. Here are my faves:

brrrrr
Today when I woke up for work it was 13 degrees. When I got off at the W. 4th street station I was met with 35-mph, 5-degree whipping winds to the face. It felt like I was being pelted with ice in the face haha. I’ll be drinking black tea and coffee all day. I really need to hit up NoHo and SoHo after work so I hope it hits the 30-degree mark.

Changeling
I finally got to watch the Changeling tonight and I have to say I was really surprised at how good it was considering it didn’t do well in the box office, but then again good movies usually don’t. The Changeling is based upon the Wineville Chicken Murders, which occurred from 1928-1930 in Los Angeles and Riverside and in the middle of it all was Christine Collins, played by...

WatchWatch
So this is the “singer” who “rock-critics” said out performed the one and only Axl Rose. Kanye and Axl both have egos and both had records drop the same week but the ground breaking critics said Kanye’s release blew Axl out of the water. HAHA. Say what you want about Axl but he can actually sing and is not a pitchy, sloppy mess like Kanye. The critics are always so...

Happy Bill of Rights day
The Bill of Rights was ratified today in 1791 — 217 years ago. This event, more than anything else, was what has made the United States different from other countries. The United States was the first country to incorporate such specific, individually-oriented limits on government power into its supreme law. So to celebrate please urge Congress to protect, obey, or restore the legal force of...

Iraqi Journalist Hurls Shoes at Bush
It may seem funny for the Iraqi’s that this “highly-respectable” journalist threw his shoes at President Bush, but I think it’s still very disrespectful. Not only have we had over 4,209 confirmed U.S. troop deaths in Iraq, but Bush is still our president so he should be treated with respect. If the Iraqi’s are so pissed about this war (like Americans are) they...

Taxes and Fees to Raise $4 Billion in New York...
Gov. Paterson wants to increase taxes on a range of items like soft-drinks from Coke and Pepsi to high-end items like furs and boats, in order to close a deficit that has ballooned to $15 billion. He also wants to impose higher taxes on health insures and remove the sales tax exemption on clothing and footwear under $115. He plans to cut roughly $9 billion, with the largest amounts aimed at...

Daisy Lowe
I love Daisy Lowe. I think she dresses so cute and has a sassy attitude. Her modeling is ok, nothing exceptional and borderlines on trashy but she’s still cute regardless. This is what I want my new haircut to look like although it never turns out the way I want it to.

Hipster-rapper love
There’s always that one crossover hip-hop artist/rapper that the hipsters have to fawn over like it’s the next Biggie Smalls/Tupac Shakur/Elliot Smith love child.  It started off with Wu-Tang, then went to Jay-Z, and later Kanye West, but now it’s Lil Wayne and T.I. They think they’re all ghetto and tough because they live in Williamsburg, party on the outskirts of...

Smoking KILLS, Obama.
So Obama said he won’t light-up in the White House, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t given into the temptations of cigarettes. What bugs me the most is that the media is portraying Obama as this big progressive leader à la FDR (who also smoked but this was during the Depression and was done in a bad ass top hat with an ivory holder.) Anyway not only is smoking totally not...
